Renowned artist Rachel Whiteread best known for her sculptures which typically take the form of casts, teamed up with LINPAC Environmental to create 14,000 rotationally moulded white boxes for an art installation at the Tate Modern’s vast Turbine Hall.

Rachel installed the 14,000 translucent white boxes, which were casts of the inside of 10 differently sized cardboard boxes into the Turbine Hall in October 2005. The massive sculpture was entitled Embankment and was sited at the Tate Modern gallery for six months.

All 14,000 polyethylene boxes were granulated and recycled at the end of the exhibition and made into bollards, litter bins and recycling bins, LINPACs usual product to result from their factory in Corsham!
